Chintsa School Sport Development

The Friends of Chintsa are supporting Chintsa East Public School for their sports teams. This wiki page will be updated to keep people informed on fixtures, results, purchases in thanks for donations and ongoing support.
Chintsa East public school has their U13 and U17 soccer teams enrolled in a weekly competition in East London and they need support to transport their two teams and teachers to and from the comp each Saturday from May till October 2010 - the year of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The teachers have written letters to local businesses to get donations; we are planning soccer matches with local backpackers on the beach against both teams, and are running movie nights in the school to raise money, and have received R2500 already which is fabulous, but we are still falling short of our R11,800 target to take us to the end of the season.
The football comp is a really important part of keeping these vulnerable teenagers away from shebeens (illegal pubs in the township) and creating a sense of teamwork and pride. We don't need alot of money, so every little bit helps! Thanks!
