As mentioned before this project is not only about giving underpriviliged kids the chance to surf but hopefully also the opp. to make something out of it for themselves.As a surfer myself on the wildcoast it's obvious that there is loads of potential for new competitive talent!Our area in the Eastern Cape has some of the best beaches in South Africa and without a doubt this will speed up the progress of our young surfers!!Port st Johns in the northern part of the Transkei is an extremely good example of what we will be aiming for.Kids out that way have grabbed their chance with both hands and have now started competing and have even appeared in South Africas' most popular surf magazine "Zigzag"!!Surfing contests is also a great way for these kids to leave the area where they have been all their lives and to see the rest of "OUR" wonderful country and coastline.It also opens up the possibility to sponsors and realistically could be life changing not only for him but also for his family!!These goals might seem too far for most but working,living and surfing in this area I personally know for sure these kids are SUPER KEEN for a chance and would never let it slide!!!You never know our next world champ could be from Chintsa!!!!!!
