Environmental Rehabilitation - Ongoing project. See details and developments on Project page as a lot is happening.
Township 2 Village - one of the most exciting initiatives happening at the moment. It's a great partnership between Foc, SANCO & VA32 which involves rehabilitating the township and creating a huge safe playing area for the young kids in the area. It was launched recently and has had great support from members of the community with VA32 building it into an ongoing support project utilising foreign volunteers moving through the Wild Coast area. See full details on Project page.
Project Clean Up - Every Wednesday afternoon from 15:00 to 16:00 in the Chintsa Township. To date going very successfully. See Project page for updates.
Chintsa School Feeding Scheme - Mikee Ford has been pro-active in developing a strategy for funding and implementation of a feeding scheme for the school which is designed to provide at least one nutritious meal a day for every child at school. See project page for full details.
Connectivity for ALL - developments finally taking shape. Due to initial buget constraints, more complicated logistics than anticipated and a range of other hurdles, the Connectivity for ALL project has been re-thought. We are now looking at a phased initiative and working with existing infrastructure and extremely limited budget to implement phase one. The VA32 free adult computer literacy courses have brought many of the learners to the end of level 2 which includes internet and e-mail and therefore we feel free access is now vital for the community. See Project page for details.
Beach Festival - Date TBC UPDATE - due to committments that have come up for the NSRI and SAPS Water wing, the beach festival has had to be postponed with a new date still to be confirmed. The Beach Festival including a Learn to swim initiative - the NSRI and SAPS Waterwing will also be present to highlight their work. This is a follow on from the successful Waterwise (NSRI Education department) day held recently at the lagoon.
