Friends of Chintsa Committee Meeting

25th January 2010 4pm

1. Michael Denison fed back to the group on the Friends projects that have received money recently such as Helmut’s project, ISV work at Chintsa School and the Nolla project boardwalk and signage that had been applied for.

2. Financials were discussed such as Helmut’s R10, 00O that was deposited before Christmas, Marike’s donation and money from past volunteer Romy’s donation of R4500 to be used towards the development of the Pre-School at Chintsa East School. Another donation from Barbara Wanklyn is about to be deposited to be spent on Chintsa East roof, the Pre School and provisions for the orphans. This amount is yet to be confirmed.

3. It was agreed that the Wikemy needed to be updated concerning the current projects and that this must be done by the end of January 2010.

4. The FOC membership card has not yet arrived for 2010. Jo Ford to email Nina Erasmus to find out the reason for this

5. Michael Ford updated the committee on the Feeding Scheme. Paying the cook was discussed and will be paid through the bank as soon as FOC internet banking has been set up. This will be set up during the next few weeks.

6. Martelize reported that the application for NPO status had been returned and some queries needed to be dealt with before reapplying. These issues will be dealt with over the next few weeks.

7. The Friends of Chintsa AGM was agreed to take place on 9th March at 4pm. A location still needs to be confirmed.

8. A FOC newsletter will be compiled and distributed over the next week. Mjongile will be asked to translate into Xhosa so that the newsletter is bilingual.
