1. The committee looked at www.wikemy.org on the computer and discussed the projects mentioned online.

2. Michael Denision reported on the ISV (International Student Volunteers) group that has recently built a Jungle Gym at the top of Chintsa location. He reported about the plans for these groups for the rest of the year. The next group will be arriving mid-June to complete phase 2 of the Jungle Gym and carry out work on the Taxi rank. Mjongile reported that residents have showed great interest for project and are very happy with results.

3. Project Clean – up was discussed. It was reported that the event is now weekly on a Wednesday at 3pm for one hour. About 5 FOC members plus VA32 volunteers have been regularly attending clean-up and have been joined by around 50 township residents weekly. All rubbish bags are them left at top of location for refuse truck to collect on Thursday morning.

4. Connectivity 4 all project was discussed and decided that the focus will be to get Chintsa School connected at present the goal to get funding for a community internet centre, either in the craft centre or next to the AHJ office.

5. Chintsa East Feeding scheme was discussed in detail. Concern was made about back charges that donators over seas would face. It was decided that the best short term option would be for UK donators to donate into UK bank account and then for the money to be transferred to FOC account monthly. This will be looked into further by Michael Ford who is co-coordinating Feeding Scheme with school.

6. There was a general consensus that another social event is needed soon to publicise the work of the Friends group. Sean Price suggested a cheese and wine party for local businesses and the opportunity to buy plaques to be displayed in the new playground. Sean agreed that he will follow this up and come back to the Friends group with details on location and date / time.

7. The date of the next meeting was not decided. The committee will decide on a date for before Christmas and all members will be informed either by email or through Mjongile / Nokaphumla.

8. Jo Ford will create up-to-date newsletter and send with membership forms to all names / contacts on Friends e-mailing list.

9. The meeting closed at 5.55pm.
