Project name: Chintsa Feeding Scheme

Partners: Volunteer Africa 32˚ South - Friends of Chintsa - Chintsa East Public School

Date: 19th May 2009

Project Aims: For all learners of Chintsa East Public School to receive school lunch every school day.

Project Objectives:

  • To generate long-term income from interested benefactors.
  • For a suitable and experienced cook to be employed.
  • To purchase all necessary equipment for cooking, serving and eating utensils.
  • To supply at least one cooked meal during the school day to each learner.

Project conclusion:

  • When such time arises that the government entirely supports the project it is the intention of this project to cease.
  • Any surplus funds will be used for similar initiatives for the benefit on underprivileged children within the Chintsa area.


Partner Responsibilities:

To maintain relationships with all partners

To generate funding streams to finance the project

To coordinate partners ensuring success

To arrange weekly purchase of produce and any necessary equipment

To utilise not-for-profit status to enable donations to be deposited

To make available the generated funds for purchase of equipment and produce

To account for and audit income/expenditure

To regularly update the website with updated information

To ensure sufficient meals are cooked daily

To recruit and manage catering staff

To audit equipment

To ensure stock level is sufficient and liaise with VA32 regarding shopping list
